Michigan is just tickin' me off...

Check it out, all, it's a culture lesson and a geography lesson. Post your time as a comment if you want. That would be fun. And a hint, hook the small eastern states together first, it makes it easier to attach them.

Have fun, take it easy all.

Thorns or fangs...

Well, I finally managed to get a flat tire on my bike. I went out to get the sun tea, and noticed that my front tire was low. Since it wasn't flat when I got home, I figured that I had a slow leak somewhere. So, I did what anyone would do, I took off the tire to see what was wrong

Well, it seems that my "slow leak" wasn't quite what I expected. I got the tube out (at which point I heard the rest of the air leak out), and ran my finger around inside the tire, only to find this:

The big end was still (barely) on the outside, and the little end was (obviously) in my tube. So, I dug it out, patched the tube, and got everything put back together. So, at least I am breaking my new tires in right.

In other news, things are cooling off a little bit here. We missed the triple digits today, and it looks like it should stay that way for a few more days. The monsoon is getting here, so we are getting really hard, short-lived thunderstorms. Crazy how hard it rains here, you would never expect it if you were here 2 weeks ago.

Amy and I are watching season 1 of "The Muppet Show", which I love. (Season Two is out mid-August, keep your eyes open, all). Amy is liking her job more. Things are all in all good.

Thats about it for now. Take it easy, all.

More fun for all...

Well, another Fourth of July come and gone. Amy and I found out that one of the Tucson resorts had fireworks that we could see from our balcony. So we made a snack and stayed at home for the night, and really had a grand old time watching the fireworks and singing patriotic songs to ourselves. Before that, we went to Amy's aunt and uncle's for a barbecue, which was a lot of fun.

All in all, it was a good Independence Day, but we definitely did miss being home in Utah with family and the Huntsville parade and such.

On the first, there was a planetary conjunction between Venus and Saturn, so now if you look in the western sky in the evening, Saturn is below Venus. I got some pretty spiffy pictures, and messed with the black and white mode on my digital. It still doesn't quite match B & W film, but it works for now.

Venus, all by it's lonesome on July 1.

Some fun black and whites from June 30. Notice the location of Venus and Saturn in the top one, as opposed to their locations in the color picture.

Anywho, thats about it for the time being. Take it easy, all.

PS - Just a shout out to my dad, who is at home watching the dogs for the weekend. Have a good one, dad.
